Really surprised by this one, picked it up not expecting anything but found I really liked it.

Strange story behind the beer and after extensive research have still not got to the bottom of it.

Originally 5.7% now reduced to 5.2% ABV. My favourite Polish beer to date scores 8.0 MBW

Will be drinking again.

Producers Story

"Fifteen years ago, EB was the first triple filtered premium Pils brewed in Poland after the Russians left the country. EB became the most popular beer in Poland until the Russians got replaced by something just as uncool.

Now, EB is the first triple filtered Premium Pils brewed in Poland, you are not allowed to buy in Poland. A perfect reason to sell EB exclusively in the UK."

Basically it's brewed in Poland but purely for Export. I think after the EB Brewery was bought by the Żywiec Brewery (Poland's largest) in 1998 they discontinued selling it in Poland as it rivalled their own beers but carried on exporting it as it was popular in Germany and the US and now Gloucester!

Castle Lager

Bought for me by Craig Stone a customer of mine from Bodmin this is South Africa's most famous lager and his favourite.

A unique aftertaste that's not too shabby, could drink on a session as very moorish. Scores 8.2 MWB

The name comes from the fact the brewery was established at the Fort (later replaced by the Castle in central Cape Town) as early as 1658. I loves a bit of history with my lager.

Erdinger Weißbier

 A wheat beer (which I'm getting a serious taste for) from Erding, Germany. Strong tasting as all wheat beers should be and a healthy 5.3% ABV to boot.

Erdinger Weißbier Kristall

You may be mistaken for thinking this is a pilsner lager by its colour and aroma but it is in fact a Wheat Beer and I love it. From the Erdinger stable and brewed in Erding, Germany.

Strong tasting yet refreshing, weighing in with a mighty 5.3% Vol.
One for all tastes 8.3 MWB

Whitstable Bay Blonde Lager

A very unique taste instantly takes it away from the 'session beer' group however it's still a decent lager, not over carbonated and reasonably refreshing. Has a home brewed feel to it. 7.8 MBW.

Grafenwalder Pils

Brewed exclusively for Lidl this is another 'Pete Special'.
4.8% Vol and 89p for a 500ml Can.
Brewed to the German Purity Laws it tastes like a typical Pilsner...best cold.

Scores a 7.8 MWB as I wouldn't rush out to buy it but also wouldn't kick it out of the fridge to make room for a lettuce....unless I was going to drink it obviously.

Fizzy and light, doesn't taste like a 5% beer, surprisingly refreshing and would definitely drink again and again.

Scores a not too loasy (see what I did?) 8.1 MWB.

Serve cool at 4 - 6°C.
