Erdinger Weißbier

A wheat beer (which I'm getting a serious taste for) from Erding, Germany. Strong tasting as all wheat beers should be and a healthy 5.3% ABV to boot.

 Scores a healthy 8.0 MBW

Country of Origin: Germany
Alc: 5.3% VOL

Manufacturers Description

"Erdinger Weissbier is not only the undisputed classic in the Erdinger product range, it is also quite simply the wheat beer par excellence.

It is brewed using fine yeast according to a traditional recipe and, of course, in strict accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law. Even today, the beer is still bottle-fermented in the traditional way; it takes three to four weeks for Erdinger Weissbier 'with fine yeast' to mature.

Only the finest ingredients are used in its production. Years of experience and constant quality checks guarantee the beer's unmistakable flavor.

A wheat beer for those who love outstanding and unforgettable wheat beer flavor."

Erdinger Weißbier Kristall

You may be mistaken for thinking this is a pilsner lager by its colour and aroma but it is in fact a Wheat Beer and I love it. From the Erdinger stable and brewed in Erding, Germany.

Strong tasting yet refreshing, weighing in with a mighty 5.3% Vol.
One for all tastes 8.3 MWB

Country of Origin: Germany
Alc: 5.3% VOL

Manufacturers Description

"Erdinger Kristall is particularly welcome as a tasty thirst-quencher for hot summer days.

This specialty wheat beer gets its crystal appearance from a particularly long filtration process, known in the industry as "fine filtration", whereby the beer becomes completely clear.

This gives Erdinger Kristall its sparkling and refreshing character - which also makes it the ideal wheat beer for warm summer days.

Brewed in strict accordance with our own traditional recipe, Erdinger Kristall meets the highest quality standards and satisfies the most sophisticated palate."

Whitstable Bay Blonde Lager

A very unique taste instantly takes it away from the 'session beer' group however it's still a decent lager, not over carbonated and reasonably refreshing. Has a home brewed feel to it. 7.8 MBW.

Country if Origin: England
Brewed by:  Shepherd Neame.
Brewed in: Faversham, England.
ALC: 4.5% VOL

Manufacturers description

"A new member of the Whitstable Bay family this refreshing contemporary lager is distinguished by it's unique hop character. Its spicy overtones are perfectly balanced by the scent of fresh flowers giving an enhanced drinking experience. 4.5%ABV"

Grafenwalder Pils

Brewed exclusively for Lidl this is another 'Pete Special'.
4.8% Vol and 89p for a 500ml Can.
Brewed to the German Purity Laws it tastes like a typical Pilsner...best cold.

Scores a 7.8 MWB as I wouldn't rush out to buy it but also wouldn't kick it out of the fridge to make room for a lettuce....unless I was going to drink it obviously.

Country of Origin: Germany
Alc: 4.8 VOL

Beerlao

BeerLao

Found this little beauty hidden away in The Railway Inn, Newnham-on-Severn on Christmas Eve 2013.

Modelled by Toby McGregor
Railway Inn Newnham, Gloucestershire 24/12/13

Fizzy and light, doesn't taste like a 5% beer, surprisingly refreshing and would definitely drink again and again.

Scores a not too loasy (see what I did?) 8.1 MWB.

Brewed and bottled by the Lao Brewing Company in Vientiane, Laos.
Serve cool at 4 - 6°C.
