"Declared Best Lager in the World in this year's World Beer Awards, run by Beers of the World magazine, Budweiser Budvar Dark is a retro-beer. Now, thanks to Budweiser Budvar, the Darkside is moving centre stage again."

Pilsner Urquell

Brewed in Pilsen in the Czech Republic, very hoppy, strong tasting lager and that's how I like it. 9.0 MWB. So nice I had to buy the glass to drink it from, always better.

Update: 1st March 2014

As I've delved further into the lager world I have discovered that Pilsner Urquell is really the forefather of the Pilsener world so this instantly gains it more points so it's now scored a monstrous 9.2 MWB

St Mungo

Another offering from the Father-in-Law. 4.9% ABV, pale lager brewed in Glasgow. 8.3% MBW, this score may need to be adjusted at a later date as I'd had more than one beer to rate that night.

Birra Morreti

Country of Origin: Italy

A fantastic Italian lager, could drink all day and all night. Scores a whopping 9.0 MWB

From the producer :-

"It is a bottom fermented beer with a golden colour. This colouring is a result of the type of malt used in brewing.
Its alcohol content is 4.6% alcohol by volume, a percentage that makes it ideal for any time of day. In fact, it is not a strong beer and is therefore perfect for drinking at lunch, at dinner or for evenings out with friends."

Weinhenstephan Kristall Weissbier

29/07/2013

Brooklyn Lager

Brooklyn Lager is from the US of A and scores a meagre 7.5 MWB. Stick to hot dogs and world domination, producing a decent Lager is evidently too difficult.

Greens Premium Pils

As my mother-in-law is wheat intolerant I thought I'd give this a try as its Gluten free. Unfortunately with most things that are wheat free it lacks a bit of taste and substance. MBW 7.5

CZECH Bohemian Pilsener

CZECH Bohemian, not 100% sure of its true origin but a nice lager anyhow. 8.0 MBW

San Miguel

Spain's most famous beer and a great one at that.
A big hitter in the World Beer league.
ALC 5.0% Vol.
MWB 8.8

Always better in the correct glass!!!

MWB?

Very simple MWB is My World Beer score out of 10. The scale starts at 7.0 purely because lager however bad is worth 7/10. Few beers score above 9 and none has ever made 10! The search continues.

Tuborg Green

Danish beer from Carlsberg, light and fresh but won't set your glass on fire. 4.6 %ABV.
Scores a steady 7.7 MWB

How it started.

With the ever increasing number of beers being imported from around the world I've decided to keep a record and rate as many as I can.
In doing this with a friend @worldbeerfriday twitter page was made and also a blog can be found at WorldBeerFriday.blogspot.co.uk.
